On January 17, 2024, Michelle Deutchman, executive director of the UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement and UC Irvine Chancellor Howard Gillman presented a briefing on Academic Freedom, discussing the similarities and differences between Academic Freedom and Free Speech and the evolution of the principles of Academic Freedom.
